In most cases anyone in The U.S. reading this needs to look into home water filter systems. Why, you may ask? Because our water is contaminated with many dangerous substances.

USA Today – Special Report entitled “How Safe is Your water?” states, “Each day millions of Americans turn on their taps and get water that exceeds the legal limits for dangerous contaminates.” The risk that you are one of those millions should cause you to want to look online at the many house water filters and have one shipped to you as soon as possible.

There are many issues with our water in homes without house water filters. One of them being chlorine. Chlorine is a necessary added ingredient to water that kills the many bacteria that we would digest if the chlorine was not added at the water plants. But once it gets in our water and does it’s job of destroying the bacteria we need to remove it from our water before we drink it or bathe and shower in it.

Reason being is two decades after we started adding chlorine to our water the present epidemic of cancer and heart disease began. A common factor among women with ****** cancer is the high levels of chlorination byproducts in their fat tissues. No one will argue the benefit of chlorine in water to kill the bacteria, but let’s be smart and remove it once the water gets to our homes by installing home water filter systems.

Other issues with water in homes without home water filter systems are the pesticides, pharmaceutical drugs, lead, arsenic, petroleum products, and any other chemical that gets washed into our rivers, lakes and groundwater. Just having one of these contaminates in our water is bad enough, but most cities in the U.S. have a combination of three or more.

When the E.P.A. sets the amount that is safe for humans to consume these contaminates, they are setting standards for an adult male around 180 pounds who consume just one of these dangerous substances. When there are two or more dangerous elements together they are much more harmful in smaller amounts than these standards that are set by the E.P.A., because combined they have a harsher effect on our bodies. When you think of a child’s body that is not as fully developed as an adults the harmful risk is even greater.

So, when I say every home needs house water filters, I am being serious. Shop online today and find the best water filter by looking for one that combines granular activated carbon filter, sub micron and multi block filters with an ion exchanges and you will be protecting your health and the health of your family.

More and more people are getting worried about the quality of the water that flows through their taps for drinking, showering and cleaning purposes because even though it passes quality control, which is monitored by the local Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and is certified drinkable there are many minerals and even bacteria that still exist and can damage our health, skin and appliances.

Here is why you should consider installing a whole house water filter system in order to gain guaranteed clean water for every requirement you have in your household.

Choosing The Filter System Best For You

There is an assortment of whole house water filter systems that you can choose from and the main deciding point should be the answer if the house in which you are going to install it is rented or owned; for rented houses you will require a system that can be removed when you decide to move while for your own home you can invest in the more expensive types that are beneficial in the long run and do not need removing.

Whole house water filters are installed directly in the pipe at the source from where water is supplied to the entire house and can cost anywhere from $99 to a few thousand dollars depending on the brand, type, size and life span it carries. All water filters need changing occasionally and that needs to be taken in calculation when you decide on any one type, as that can cost you considerable taking in account that the flow of water through this filter is higher than that from just a tap and an inexpensive whole house water filter will probably makes its money in the filter replacements.

Advantage Of Clean Healthy Water Everyday

Having a whole house water filter system will put your mind at ease anytime you choose to use the water whether it is for drinking purposes, washing or cleaning and the impact will soon be felt in the taste of the water, healthier skin, soft hair and better functioning appliances. All these paybacks from the water filter system will in fact add to your savings as you do not need to buy bottled water, expensive lotion for treating your skin problems, masks and treatments for your hair and not to mention maintaining and repairing appliances such as the washing machine or dish washer, which can cost an arm and a leg.

Another good part is that the water that gets to go back into the drain is also free of chemicals, minerals, and bacteria, meaning you are protecting the environment as well.

Nowadays people are using more than just a sink filter in their homes. After studies came out documenting the dangers of bathing and cleaning with tap water, many people have taken the plunge and bought whole house water filters.

It might sound like an exaggeration to use a whole house water filter but it’s really not. The dangers of what comes out of your tap are not only a problem when you drink it. Pretty much any activity that involves the use of tap water is a risk. Here are 7 great benefits of using a whole house filter that may convince you to also take the plunge.

1 ) Whole house filters are your last means of protection if your municipal treatment facility were to break down. Imagine the horror of getting dirty water only worthy of a sewer coming out of your sink. Breakdowns are known to occur and the only way to stay safe is with a whole house filter.

2.) A whole house water filter is a one-stop solution to filtration. You won’t need separate filters in your bathroom and kitchen. You will only need one system that will get the job done.

3.) Whole house filters keep the air in your house cleaner. This is especially important if anyone in your family suffers from allergies or asthma because these conditions can be aggravated when chemicals that come from the tap are released in the air.

4.) When you have a whole house filter, you can wash your clothes in clean, filtered water. This means that no harsh chemicals will get embedded in your clothing and your clothing will last a lot longer. Chemicals in tap water cause the fibers in fabric to break down more quickly.

5.) Whole house filters provide the cleanest drinking water possible because there will be no contaminants entering your homes plumbing system.

6.) A whole house filter is far more effective than filtering the shower because it removes all of the contaminants when the water is at a low temperature. Shower filters on the other hand remove fewer contaminants since they are used once.

7.) Whole house filters reduce soap scum on dishes and in your bathroom. You will notice that you spend a lot less time scrubbing your house because soap scum will nearly disappear.

Basically, there are a vast number of benefits to using whole house water filters. Sure, any filter is better than no filter at all. But why not reap the maximum benefits by having all of the water in your home filtered in one fell swoop?

You won’t have to worry about installing different gadgets throughout your home as every water source in your home will have fresh, filtered water. It’s convenient, easy, and surprisingly affordable. There is really no reason not to give it a shot.ny of the others they need to be replaced on a regular basis. Using them after their lifespan has ended would be defeating the whole purpose of filtration.

If you are shopping for whole house water filters, take a moment to learn a few facts.

If you choose the right whole house water filter, your family will be protected from the hazards of chlorine and its by-products. If you choose the wrong system, then you have just wasted your money.

Chlorination is the primary reason that whole house water filters have become so popular. Not only does it taste bad, but research has shown that it increases the risk of cancer by as much as 93%.

It’s not just drinking chlorinated water that causes the risk. The risk is also in showering in it and inhaling the vapors.

If you take a moment to compare the effectiveness of one whole house water filter versus another, you will see that all of them claim to remove chlorine, but some of them are not certified to do so by an independent laboratory.

In most of the United States, whole house water filters are not required to obtain a certification from underwriters. Since it is not mandatory, some companies would rather avoid the expense. Personally, I would not buy a whole house water filter without a UL certification.

The removal of particles is another safety issue. Most whole house water filters do not include a micron filter. Without one, illness causing cysts that are resistant to chemical disinfection can be floating in your glass. The greatest risk is to infants and small children.

The best whole house water filter on the market today removes anything larger than 5 microns. That’s about the size of a dust particle on the head of a pin. In the majority of homes, that is sufficient.

There are only two whole house water filters on the market that include 5 micron particle filtration. Strangely, there is a huge difference in their prices.

One is less than a thousand dollars while another is nearly six thousand dollars. I had to find out the difference, since both are UL certified.

It turns out that the price difference is due to specific rocks that are used in the most expensive, but not the least expensive. They do exactly the same job and the technology is the same. However, the company with the much more expensive model wants you to believe that the rock particles in their whole house water filter will “imbue” your shower with health-giving qualities.

I find that a little difficult to believe, but if you want to pay extra for your whole house water filters, that’s up to you. The cost of use will be about $60 per month, as opposed to the $20 per month that we spend to maintain our whole house water filter.

The choice is yours of course. Just remember to avoid anything that does not have a UL certification, as well as the ones that require electricity and back flushing. They are more of a hassle and cost more to operate. Also, remember to look for micron filtration.

Whole house water filters don’t have to be that expensive to be effective. It’s been well worth the cost to my family.

Due to the state of our drinking water, interest in whole house water filters is way up, and taking an interest in ensuring clean water for your family is great so long as the filter you buy is the right one for the job. Some unscrupulous companies out there are willing to sell you products that don’t meet your home water purification needs. Let’s take a look at what they are trying to sell you.

The goal of any countertop, under counter, or whole house filter is to aid in the removal of the literally tens of thousands of harmful contaminants that are present in our groundwater and reservoir system. The vast majority of these pollutants are chemical, but there also are toxic metals present. Further, you need to be aware of microscopic organisms that have survived the chlorine disinfection process.

Your whole house water filter or point of use units need to feature the filters necessary for the removal of as many toxic and carcinogenic contaminants as possible. You have to be careful about what you buy, because many of the filtering systems being offered do pathetically little when it comes to removing contaminants from your water. You don’t want to make the expensive mistake of buying one of these.

What you need to watch out for are those companies that are trying to push what is called a reverse osmosis filter system as a home purification system. This is the sort of system that is used by certain industries such as car washes and photography labs, because the water they use cannot contain any particulates that would ruin the finish of their products. Demineralization is what this system is designed for.

Reverse osmosis whole house water filters will remove the mineral content of your water, but will do little else for you other than waste water and electricity. The porous membrane filters these appliances use to filter your water cannot remove any of the microscopic organisms that may be present, and only due to an activated granular carbon pre-filter can they remove some of the chemical contaminants.

The filters these home systems use are no different from the ones used by the water treatment facilities, in that they cannot remove anything from your water of equal or lesser molecular weight than the water itself. Without the activated granular carbon filter, these appliances would remove nothing that threatens your family’s health. However, more than just that one filter is needed.

The reverse osmosis system of whole house water filter typically does not feature the multi media block that is supposed to work as a companion to the activated granular carbon filter to guarantee the removal of all chemicals. This system will also not use a submicron filter to remove any threat posed by microscopic organisms in your water, and an ion exchange for removing toxic heavy metal traces.

Reverse osmosis whole house water filters don’t offer you the complete protection that a system incorporating this quartet of filters does. Which system seems like the better investment?

Did you know that some whole house water filters strip the water you drink of health benefits? Drinking water is a primary source of vitamin intake. If you start drinking de-mineralized water, your body will become deficient in one, if not many, essential minerals. And this can cause all kinds of health problems.

So which minerals are in tap water?

Magnesium – almost 90 percent of people are deficient in this mineral. It helps your body absorb two other essential minerals—potassium and calcium. It also may help prevent cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis.

Chloride and Bicarbonates - both are vital to digestion and keeping the ph balance in the stomach and intestines.

Iron – it produces hemoglobin and myoglobin. Hemoglobin is the molecule in red blood cells that delivers oxygen from lungs to tissues. Myoglobin supplies oxygen to muscles.

Sulfate – acts as a cleansing and detoxifying agent in the body. It’s also good for strong teeth.

These are some of the health benefits you’ll miss out on if you buy a particular type of whole house water filter. It’s called a reverse-osmosis filter and takes everything out of water—the contaminants and the essential minerals listed above. I don’t recommend it.

With the mineral content of our fruits and vegetables already degraded by modern farming practices and cooking, the minerals you receive from water become that much more vital.

Also, drinking de-mineralized water is bad for you. Unlike regular tap water, it’s acidic, so when you drink it, your body has to take minerals from teeth and bones to neutralize the acid. In clinical studies, when body fluids become more acidic than alkaline, cancer-causing free radical production increases. Zoltan Rona, President of the Canadian Holistic Medical Association once stated that “The ideal water for the human body should be slightly alkaline and this requires the presence of minerals like calcium and magnesium”.

With today’s knowledge of how water benefits health, using reverse osmosis whole house water filters makes no sense. So if you’re searching for a filter to purify all the water in your house, look for one that removes the contaminants, but leaves water rich in minerals.

At my website, I discuss the best whole house water filters, the ones that give you peace of mind that your drinking water is pure and full of minerals.

Whole house water filter products are increasing in popularity now as more people become aware of the risks of only having drinking water purified. We can actually absorb more toxins by other activities.

These types of systems treat all the water that comes into your home and so all the various uses like cooking, bathing and showering are all covered.

Whole house water filters can be installed in just a couple of hours by a plumber and only need a simple filter change once every six months. This is the most cost effective way to have your supply treated, and can work out to as little as 10 cents a gallon.

With over 2000 toxic chemicals in the supply including pesticides, prescription drugs, lead and chlorine, it is vital to get the right system. When we shower for example we absorb as many toxins as we would if we drank 2 liters of unfiltered water.

This is because our pores open up and it is easy for the toxic gases in the steam to enter into our system. It is a fact that you have a 93% higher chance of getting cancer if you use chlorinated water.

For this reason it is vital to select carefully. Many systems will remove some of the contaminants but only the very few great ones will remove them all, especially the chlorine.

The best whole house water filter uses a multi-stage process with an ion exchange and sub micron filtering. This will result in a removal rate of 99% for all the contaminants, whilst leaving in the trace minerals like calcium and magnesium.

With more toxins being discovered every day in our supplies (you may have heard about the rocket fuel recently found in one test), it is essential to choose the best, but this does not necessarily mean the most expensive.

For example the reverse osmosis systems are not recommended as they remove vital trace minerals we need to be healthy and can cost over three times as much as a more effective multi-stage one.

In closing I hope you can see the benefits of having whole house water filters to protect all your water, not only what you drink, and how there are many good ones but only a few that stand head and shoulders above the rest.

Whole house water filters are becoming increasingly more popular and affordable. A simple installation and you’re up and running and no longer have to worry about the quality and safety of your water.

Tap and bottled water continue to get bad press, and water contamination outbreaks become more common. There are so many toxins in water, the main two being chlorine and lead, which are not fully filtered out from our drinking water.

For example, a 1998 study of 29 cities in the US by the Environmental Working Group found that all cities had traces of at least one weed killer in the drinking water! How scary is that? So I have made a short checklist for you of the main advantages of having a whole house water filter.

1. Very cost effective

Regular kitchen jug filters are the least effective method and the most expensive. They have been proven to eliminate the least toxins from the water, leaving you exposed to potential health risks.

2. Simple to use

A normal installation by a qualified plumber only takes around 1.5 – 2.5 hours and that’s it, you’re up and running, with the knowledge that all your water is safe, clean and healthy.Remember it’s not only when you drink water that you’re exposed. When you take a bath or shower you actually absorb more toxins through your skin than if you drank some water. Crazy but true.

3. No more tedious cartridge refills

If you are using a kitchen jug refill, you know what an expensive chore this is. With a good quality whole house water filter system you should only need to change the filter every three years, a task which you can easily perform yourself.

4. Feel the difference!

Within days of using your whole house water filter you will notice how much softer your hair and skin feels, as the previous effects of the chlorine and other toxins wears off. You may also notice your energy levels rising as your body doesn’t have to work so hard to clean out the impurities.

5. Peace of mind

You can be safe in the knowledge that all of your water, whether for bathing or drinking, is pure, clean and healthy. This is the best option to protect you and your family’s health and well being.

Well I hope this helps you in your decision, and narrows down your options somewhat! There are many more benefits to using whole house water filters, and if you would like to find out more, why not visit my website.

If you are like me, you probably don’t think very much about the water coming into your house. When you turn on the faucet in the kitchen, if the water coming out looks good and smells good, then you are satisfied. However, the chemicals used in treating your water supply are distributed to all areas of your home. Using a whole house water filter can improve the quality of water in all areas of your home. This article will examine some tips on what to look for in a whole house water filter.

The first tip involves the ability to remove sediments. While many water treatment plants use sediment filters as a part of their process, they have no control over the piping that brings the water to your house. If these pipes are aging, there may be small particles that break free from the lining inside the pipes. Whole house water filters can stop the sediments as they enter your home, thus protecting the pipes in your home.

The second tip is an active chemical removal process. There are many types of chemicals present in the water supplies of cities. These chemicals often can be removed by an ion exchange process. This method binds the undesired chemical within the filter, letting the purified water flow through for your use. Whole house water filters ensure that undesired chemicals never reach your bathtubs, showers, or washing machines.

The third tip is an effective chlorine removal process. Chlorine is routinely used in the treatment of municipal water supplies. When chlorine enters your home piping system, this chemical is vaporized as taps or showers are used. These vapors can aggravate conditions such as asthma, bronchitis and allergies. Both the ion exchange process and activated carbon techniques are effective in reducing chlorine.

In conclusion, there are many benefits to using whole house water filters. Your water quality is improved for drinking and cooking, as well as for bathing and clothes washing. Removal of chlorine improves the air quality due to reduced vaporization at the kitchen faucet and in tubs and showers. Keeping undesired chemicals out of your water improves your overall health and well being. Use these tips to help you find the whole house water filter that works best for you!

Whole House Water Filters Prevent Cancer? Does this suggest that something may be in the water we drink or shower with that causes cancer? How could a whole house filter help? Let us find out.

Research Reveals Startling Facts

Researchers believe that there is a definite connection between cancers of a particular kind, namely: rectal and breast cancer, and taking showers in chlorinated water. Why?

The reason is that drinking water with chlorine in it and inhaling the chemical vapors from chlorine seems to pose a health threat. But think about this, when we take a shower chlorine is absorbed by the skin. Our skin is the largest body organ. What you put on it can be absorbed right into the blood stream.

Two Critical Points You Must Know and Heed

Why is Chlorine the Suspected Culprit?
What Can Be Done to Remove it Safely?

First, Why is Chlorine the Suspected Culprit?

During World War I chlorine gas was used as a chemical weapon. It irritants the respiratory system. When you turn on the shower or otherwise use hot water, the chlorine becomes vaporized. If you have asthma you may have noticed a difference in your breathing in the shower. Doctors are now recommending a whole house water filter that blocks chlorine. Whole house filters do more than that. I will cover what in another article on in my newsletter.

At this point you may be thinking that you have always heard chlorine in the water is beneficial.
That is true and it is false.

Why is it true that chlorine is useful? It is used by water treatment facilities to disinfect the water it sends to your home. But when the water is disinfected by chlorine it releases THMs and also chloroform gas. Certain government agencies have reported that chloroform gas has been found in most homes. The reason discovered was: taking showers in chlorinated water.

Dangers of Chloroform Gas

Chloroform gas exposure can cause headaches, dizziness and fatique. Also if exposure is over a long period of time, possible damage to the kidneys and liver can happen.

How Can Chlorine Be Removed Effectively

A whole house filter is the answer to the above dangers. If you don’t have one then would it not be wise to get one yesterday?

Now do not make the mistake of getting a reverse osmosis filter. This is another subject but RO is not for the typical in-home water filter system. I will also cover this in my newsletter. But quickly RO will not block chlorine.

It is crucial that you get the right whole house filter system because some don’t block THMs which is a by-product of chlorine. I have found only one such manufacturer that has a filter that protects against most if not all of the contaminants found in water.

We often hear about the big “C” and what we should do to protect ourselves. Usually it is about the food we eat and to get regular exercise. What about the contaminants in the water? Do your research like I did and get the right whole house filter.

These days, it is easy to become alarmed by the increasing amounts of chemicals and toxins appearing in our food, air, and water. When it comes to the safety of water at home; however, there is a solution. By now, you probably know that you should drink filtered water, but did you know that you should also bathe, shower, cook, and launder your clothes with filtered water? In order to filter water for all of these uses in your home, you can install a whole-house water filter.

A whole-house filter connects to the main water line entering your house so that all of the water dispensers – faucets, showers, baths, kitchen, laundry – dispense filtered water. The two most common types of contaminants removed by these filters are sediment and chemicals. Sediment typically refers to the visible particles in water that need to be mechanically strained, such as dirt, dust, rust, and sand. Dozens of chemicals, including chlorine, are removed by carbon filtration.

Many people are recognizing the advantages to installing a whole-house water filter; it helps our finances, our health, and the environment. Here are the top three reasons to install a whole-house water filter:

1. It saves time and money. Installing a whole-house filter is efficient and convenient; it addresses all of the water dispensers in your home with a single filter. Instead of purchasing bottled water, you can save money by filling your reusable water bottles at home.

2. It improves your health. Many people are unaware of the dangers of chlorine and other chemicals in municipal tap water. You are exposed to these chemicals not only when drinking unfiltered water but also through bathing, cooking, etc. According to researchers, unfiltered water is a health risk. The chemicals are absorbed through our skin and we inhale them in gas form when the water is heated. The chemical gases can also spread throughout the house so that our families continue to breathe them long after a shower has ended. Chlorine has been linked to cancer of the bladder, liver, rectum, and colon, as well as heart disease, atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries,) anemia, high blood pressure, and allergic reactions. There is also evidence that chlorine can destroy protein in the body and that it damages skin and hair. Your pets also suffer ill-effects from drinking and bathing in unfiltered water.

3. It helps the environment. Over one million barrels of crude oil are used annually to produce the plastic used to bottle water and then the bottled water is hauled long distances for distribution, burning more fuel. The majority of the plastic water bottles end up in landfills or if they are recycled, more fuel is consumed during the recycling process.

Installing a whole-house water filter requires an initial investment in time and money but the long term benefits to your health, your wallet, and the environment are priceless. Call your local plumber and have a whole-house water filter installed today!

The right whole house water filters can prevent up to 99.9% of irritating chlorine and other dangerous chemicals from entering your home. They provide clean, pure, good tasting drinking water and water that is healthier for showering and bathing. What we have here are the important things to look for when you are shopping for a system.

All whole house water filters are not created equal. Always ask for the product certification and UL listing before you buy. Some products only contain certified “components”. You want the whole system to be certified, not just some parts.

Not only the system, but the factory the unit and its components were created in should be certified. If the unit does not function properly, then you have wasted your money and you could still be endangering your family’s health.

For the average size home, you need a high-capacity system. Else, you may end up with low water pressure or only partially filtered water. 300,000 gallons per three years is a good certified capacity. Smaller homes, apartments, condominiums and mobile homes may be able to get by with a lower capacity, but unless there is a huge cost difference, you are better off with the highest capacity possible.

Not all whole house water filters are complete systems. Some companies sell elements of the units separately. You will get a better price and better performance if the system is complete. It should include a pre-filter unit, a main filter unit and an installation kit that includes the necessary hardware. There should also be an emergency shut-off valve on the unit in case of leaks.

In order to protect your warranty and validated the certifications, you will need to have a licensed plumber install the unit. It should take less than three hours. Plumber’s rates vary. So, shop around.

You want the whole house water filters themselves to be easily replaced; no plumber required. You should only have to replace the main filter unit every three years. If more frequent replacement is recommended, you may want to look for a different system. Yearly replacement could be costly and inconvenient.

The best systems may seem a bit pricey, usually around $1000, but when you consider that you will no longer need shower or kitchen units. Add in the cost of replacement carbon filtration cartridges for the various units in your home and you should end up saving money with whole house water filters.

Too, you have to consider the health advantages. If you have a shower unit, it cannot filter the water for tub baths. If you filter the water in the kitchen, the water you brush your teeth with is still contaminated.

Your water will be softer throughout your house. Your clothes will smell better. Your skin and hair will be softer. You’ll have less build-up on your fixtures, because the mineral content will be balanced, as long as you choose a multi-stage unit with an ion exchange filter. Whole house water filters can improve many things in your life, including your family’s health.

Initially the cost of whole house water filters may seem high, but when you look at the cost of individual units for the kitchen, the shower and other faucets, you could actually end up saving money. Plus, a whole house water filter protects areas of your home that you might not normally think about, areas for which individual units are not available.

You know that you should not drink from the tap. Brushing your teeth might concern you. You may even know why shower units are important. But, did you know that without a whole house water filter, chlorine vapors and THMs, which are by-products of chlorination, are released into your home just about anywhere?

The Laundry Room.

The laundry room is one area that many people never think about. You use hot-water there, just like you do in the shower. The heat vaporizes chlorine and THMs are always gaseous. Plus, if you do not have a whole house water filter, your clothes will not last as long as they could.

Think about it. Chlorine is bleach. If you bleached your colored clothes every time that you washed them, how long would they last? In an emergency situation following a hurricane or a flood, health organizations recommend using household chlorine bleach to sanitize and clarify the water. That should tell you that bleach and chlorine are the same things.

The Dishwasher.

Without a whole house water filter, you are releasing toxic vapors every time that you turn on the dishwasher. If you or someone in your family has asthma, these vapors may trigger attacks, depending on the amount of the toxins that are in the water-supply at any given time. It varies. At certain times of the year, levels are higher than others. It depends on when the facilities are “cleaning the pipes”. It’s pretty much constant, but usually once a year, they “really” flush the system and boy, what problems that used to cause my family.

It took us a long time to figure out that whole house water filters were the way to go. We were wasting money on inferior products that didn’t last as long and couldn’t do the same job. We have fewer headaches, fewer worries and everyone is healthier. Plus, we are protecting our long term health. Many of the things that come through the faucet are cancer causing substances. The Ralph Nader research group identified over two thousand different types in tap-water around the country.

I think of our whole house water filter as future health insurance. I know that my kids are safer. We save money, because we don’t have to buy bottled water all of the time. The company that we chose sends our replacement cartridges automatically, so we don’t even have to remember to replace them. There have been so many advantages, they are too numerous to name. Everything seems cleaner, even the car looks better.

Whole house water filters have meant a lot to my family. They may be the right choice for yours.

Where the tap water we use does come from for our household needs?

Mostly from two natural resources: surface water, such as ponds, lakes, rivers, creeks and streams, and ground water that is extracted by means of a well. But regardless of the original source tap water unfortunately is not at all safe to drink.
It contains numerous impurities that can be harmful to your health.

Heavy metals, such as cooper, iron, lead, fluoride, radon can occur naturally. Some substances can contaminate ground water leaching through the soil or from the plumbing pipes. Among those very dangerous contaminants are fertilizers, asbestos, cyanides, pesticides and numerous industrial chemicals. To kill bacteria and to adjust PH some substances, such as chlorine, carbon, lime, soda ash, phosphates and aluminum sulfate are added intentionally.
But even with these actions taken the water still could be contaminated with viruses, bacteria and parasites.

One of the America’s leading authorities on water contamination, Dr. David Ozonoff of the Boston University School of Public Health states, “The risk of disease associated with public drinking water has passed from the theoretical to real”.

There is only one possible way of removing all undesirable substances right at the “point of entry”. It is to use one of the best filters offered on the market – the whole house water filter.

Only whole house water filter can remove contaminants that potentially hazardous to your health along with hundreds chemicals that can cause “rotten-egg” smell of the water.
Whole house water filter can remove bad smell and taste of the water that comes from a lake or reservoir and is polluted by algae.

The biggest problem of the tap water we use in our household is huge amount of chlorine that is intentionally added in public water supplies to kill bacteria, adjust PH and eliminate cloudiness.
Chlorine is incredibly harmful for your skin and hair, because it kills cells and attacks the oil that retains moisture.

Washing clothes in chlorinated water fades color and is damaging to fabric.
But most hazardous is chlorinated gas that evaporates from hot water when you take a shower. This gas is one of the most common sources of indoor air pollution in many households.

Studies show that most American homes have higher level of chloroform gas caused by chlorine evaporation from treated water. Chlorine gas is released into the air every time you shower, bathe, flush the toilet or wash your clothes with chlorinated water.
This is very dangerous for kids, asthma suffers and people with weak immune system.

Only whole house water filter can give you chlorine free water in tap, bath and shower. Chlorine free showers will leave your skin softer, and more hydrated thus younger-looking and suppler. Your hair will be silky smooth and hair color will last longer.
Fresh and clean laundry free of chlorine will not ruin your clothes.

You will have better tasting water at every tap in your house. Using whole house water filter will guarantees that the air in your home will be much cleaner and healthier.

Using whole house water filter will prevent your major appliances from rust, caused by iron present in the unfiltered water. Iron can also stain fixtures, such as sinks, showers, toilets etc. In the iron rich water certain bacteria that thrive in hot water heaters produces hydrogen sulfide the source of “rotten-egg” smell.

So, it is imperative to clean and purify water, used in your household by the means of whole house water filter.

Our body consists of at least 70% of water. Our blood contains 83 percent of water. Rest of the body parts like muscles contain 75 percent of water, brain has 74 percent of water and the bone has 22 percent of water. So it’s not that hard to imagine that human existence cannot be thought of without water.

High intake of clean water has huge benefits. Water gives energy to our body thus removing dehydration. It relieves various stomach problems and helps our digestive system to work properly. It also leads to soft, supple and glowing skin by improving blood circulation. It helps our kidney and liver to remove deadly toxins from our body.

A whole house water filter works as a point-of-entry system, automatically filtering every drop of water that enters your home’s plumbing system. No more running to the store for bottled water, no more drinking only water from your refrigerator’s filtration system, and no more separate filters throughout your house with separate cartridges to maintain. A whole house filter provides fresh, clean water free of toxins from every faucet in your home.

Water that is contaminated with viruses or bacteria can cause gastroenteritis, cancer, and reproductive/developmental issues. Water becomes contaminated if there is a break in a water main. There are up to 40 million waterborne illnesses annually.

Pregnant women, young children, the elderly, people with chronic illnesses and those with weakened immune systems can be especially vulnerable to the risks posed by contaminated water.

Whole house water filters might be the right option for your family. You have to consider whether the whole house water filter can take the place of other systems around the house. As with anything else, the quality and prices vary greatly from one manufacturer to another.

Buying directly from the factory always saves you money. Whole house water filters are no exception to that rule. Whether or not they will be effective depends on the quality of your source-water.

Unlike countertop units, a whole house water filter is designed primarily to remove chlorine and microscopic particles. Some chemical contaminants are removed but a disinfection method is required to kill bacteria. In most homes, the treatment facilities do a pretty good job of that, but some bacteria are resistant to chemical disinfection and cysts can get in at other points in the system.

If you really want to know, you can have testing done by an independent laboratory. The quality at the facility is not a true reflection of what is coming into your house. If you live in an area that uses chlorine for disinfection, then you probably need whole house water filters.

Some people do not like the idea or washing the car or flushing the toilet with filtered-water. It might seem like a waste. But one thing that you are doing is protecting the quality of the air in your home. Since the best whole house water filter is certified to remove 99% or more of chlorine, then no chlorine vapors will enter your home.

Those vapors are known to trigger asthma attacks and complicate respiratory problems. There is some evidence that they could also play a role in various types of cancer. Whole house water filters may be the best way to protect your family’s present and future health.

When you compare quality, you want to look for Underwriter’s Laboratory certifications. It is your guarantee that the whole house water filter will perform as it claims.

Next, you want to look at micron filtration. The best whole house water filters block anything larger than 5 microns and that’s pretty small. It’s about the size of a dust particle.

Unless you want a higher electric bill, you want a whole house water filter that does not require electricity. This also saves on installation, because the only person that you need to call is a plumber. And, you must have the unit installed by a plumber or you will void your warranty.

Finally, you want to look at cost, both initially and for continued use. A whole house water filter may cost as much as $10,000. If a less expensive model is just as effective, then why not go that route. One of the best systems on the market costs just under a thousand dollars and the cost per month is less than $20.

Two of the best whole house water filters vary greatly in price, but as mentioned above, why pay more?

Let’s face it, the choice to go with whole house water filters system was a difficult one.  We thought that a whole house water filter would cost too much, so we tried going with a countertop unit and one for the master shower.  Of course, we should have realized that was not enough.  Luckily we learned our lesson.  Hopefully, this information will help you make the right decision for your family.

We started with the countertop unit, because the chlorine levels in our area are at times higher than what is safe to swim in.  The company says it is “safe”, but what they really mean is safe enough to pass EPA standards.Â

No one really knows what all that chlorine can do to you.  I know what it did to my dogs.  It gave them diarrhea.  Now, we don’t have to worry about that because we found whole house water filters system that remove nearly 100% of the chemical, as well as many other contaminants.Â

But, it took us a while to figure out that the whole house water filter was the right way to go.  After we installed the shower unit in our bathroom, no one would take a bath anywhere else.  So, we had to get three more.

Once you get used to filtered water, you can really smell the chlorine that comes out of other taps.  So, before we switched to whole house water filters, we ended up putting countertop units on the bathroom faucets.  That was four more units.

After about a year of replacing cartridges all over the house every three or four months, we did the math.  The whole house water filter system that we chose cost less than a thousand dollars.  Within one year, it paid for itself, because that’s how much we were spending on replacement cartridges alone.

We kept the kitchen counter unit.  Because, there are some things that whole house water filters might not remove.  Our pipes are older and they affect the taste, but they might also be leaking lead.Â

Because of the whole house water filter, I can take a bath again.  Our clothes smell better.  They will probably last longer, too.  Since, they’re not getting bleached every time we wash them.

When he came to install the unit, the plumber said that whole house water filters system would protect our pipes from corrosion.  So, that was an added bonus.  We haven’t seen him in a while.

The system we bought as a pre-filtration step and a main unit.  The pre-filters have to be replaced every three months, because we use a lot of water.  But, the main unit of the whole house water filter lasts for three years.  The company that we chose ships the pre-filters automatically, so we don’t have to worry about ordering them and we don’t have to trust our memory.

Make no mistake about it, a whole house water filter turned out to be a worthwhile investment for our family.  Everyone is happier and safer, even the dogs.Â

There are quite a few whole house water filters available for use today. These vary widely in quality, cost and effectiveness. So which whole house water filter should you choose? That’s what I’m going to help you to decide.

Let’s begin with the highly touted system known as reverse osmosis or RO whole house water filters. These are the most expensive systems on the market with a starting cost of $10,000 per unit. You would think that with a price tag like that they would have to be the best, right? You couldn’t be more wrong in that assumption.

The shortcomings of the RO whole house waters filters far outweigh the advantages to owning one. They are basically nothing more than de-mineralization systems in that they will remove only ‘seeable’ particles from your water. The units do absolutely nothing to rid your water of any of the many chemical and biological contaminants that are present.

RO whole house water filters also waste 5 times more water than they clean an take a large amount of power to run which only takes more money out of your pocket. Add that cost to the professional installation costs of the system, plus the additional price tag for maintenance and frequent filter replacements. A lot of money spent for a system that can’t even complete its primary objective, which is to clean your water.

Next on the list we have our featured $6000 system known as the Wellness whole house water filter. These units block 99% of chlorine, have the ability to remove microscopic entities, and can block lead. They don’t waste water, run on no electricity and have a large capacity. Overall it’s a good machine but not worth $6000. So why does it cost so much?

The people who bring you the Wellness whole house water filters have included in the unit “magical” Japanese stones which will bring healthy benefits to you and your family. Of course they do claim to have a practical purpose for adding the stones, which is that that have antifungal and antibacterial properties. That’s pretty funny, huh?

The next model is the Life Source whole house water filter valued at a mere $4000. This unit leaves a lot to be desired. The unit is capable of removing chlorine from your water, but doesn’t do much else. Let’s move on.

The last two of our top five run for about the same amount of money, so we’ll just group them together at $2800. Neither SKW whole house water filters nor the ECO whole house water filter offer much in the way of service at all. They will remove bacteria, but not as well as some of the other models mentioned, and SKW is not even certified despite the fact that it claims to remove chlorine.

There is my review of the top listed units on the market today. There is another system that costs around $1000 by direct purchase, and will do everything that you need it to. It, and not these overpriced models, is probably one of the best whole house water filters being sold today.

When shopping for whole house water filters, you have a number of choices. The right choice in a whole house water filter depends on the contaminants in your supply. The information here should help you choose the right product.

Do you have a private well?

If you have a private well, the US Environmental Protection Agency recommends that you have annual testing done to confirm the purity of your supply. Testing can be expensive, but you need a reliable and accurate record. It’s not just about “which” whole house water filters to purchase. A testing record can be used to prove that incoming industry or construction damaged your supply.

Are you serviced by a public treatment facility?

If you are serviced by a public provider your primary need is chlorine removal. You want a whole house water filter that is UL (Underwriters laboratory) or NSF certified. WQA certifications are made by a trade group that allows members to “claim” performance, without providing the data to back up their claims.

In addition to chlorine removal, the removal of microscopic particles is recommended. Those systems that filter down to 5 microns provide the cleanest drinking water. If you are concerned about cysts, you will still need a kitchen system that filters down to one micron.

How much should you pay?

If you have a private well, a whole house water filter purification system can be quite expensive. It just depends on what contaminants are present. People who live near the coast often have a high sediment and sodium content. You will likely need prefiltration and a kitchen faucet purifier.

If you are on a public water line, the best whole house water filters on the market can be purchased for less than a thousand dollars. There are more expensive brands, but there is no reason to pay $6000 for a whole house water filter when you can get the same effectiveness in a less expensive product. If you shop at a retail store, you will pay more, simply because of mark-up.

Do I really need whole house water filters?

If you have a private well, you might not need a whole house water filter. But, anyone serviced by a public treatment facility can benefit from chlorine removal.

It is a necessary evil, as it controls bacterial growth and prevents outbreaks of waterborne illnesses. But, it is bad for the digestive system. In the shower it damages the skin and hair. Cooking with and showering in chlorinated water causes the release of toxic gases.

So, you are not only filtering your water, you are also improving the quality of your home’s indoor air. If you have asthma or another chronic respiratory condition, your health will improve when you improve the quality of the air.

Your clothes will last longer and the colors will be brighter, because you are not constantly “bleaching” them. Whole house water filters can save you money and protect your health, as long as you buy the right product.

This is a very important question which often isn’t answered. There are a variety of chemicals in our city and municipals water that have been added to keep us safe from bacteria. This is good for that use but these chemicals need to be removed from your home water before you use it. You should not be drinking or bathing in chlorine or ammonia. The HealthyHome Solution whole house water filtering system creates a barrier at your front door to keep these chemicals from harming your family.

www.wholehousewaterfilternow.com What is the maintenance required on a whole house water filter system like the Healthy Home Solution filter? As long as you have a high quality water filtration and conditioning system like the Healthy Home Solution by Pure Elements, Inc., which does not use any salt or chemicals for the water conditioning portion of the filter, your maintenance interval is as long as five to ten years easily. This compared to having a simple cartridge filter or something more complicated like a reverse osmosis drinking water system under each counter requires maintenance at least every year if not every six months. Those systems require a lot of filter changes or they are rendered ineffective. That’s another thing you need to think about and you’ll need to spend your time replacing them and the cost of the replacement filters and parts. When you tackle water filtration and conditioning on a whole house approach, what happens is you dramatically reduce your maintenance costs and you save a lot of money over using point of use systems which need to be under each counter or faucet in the home. If you work it out on paper, you get high quality water for pennies a gallon with a whole house water filter as compared to the much more expensive over time point of use systems or buying bottled water.

www.wholehousewaterfilternow.com — “Will a Healthy Home Solution whole house water filter reduce heavy metals in your tap water?” {Click on the HD button on the lower right screen corner for a higher quality video.} Will a Healthy Home Solution whole house water filter reduce heavy metals in your tap water? It is easy for a home water filtration system to address the problem of heavy metals in your water but only if done properly. Pure Elements focuses on this very problem with each of their Healthy Home Solution water filters. Iron, lead, mercury, arsenic, zinc and silver are greatly reduced due to the design of this water filter and conditioner. Many of our competitors DO NOT have this component in their filters. Their systems lack the ability to pull out heavy metals. While doing research on whole home water filters, be sure to make sure that the filter you purchase has the capability of reducing heavy metals.

Redox media is used to reduce heavy metals. Coconut shell activated carbon is used to remove chlorine, pesticides and other chemicals. And garnet media is used to maintain a high flow rate through the water filter. Make sure any water filter system you are looking contains these medias because without them you won’t achieve high quality water filtering.

www.wholehousewaterfilternow.com Why is a whole house water filter system better than an under the sink or point of use water filter? When we help clients figure out how to get the most exceptional water quality throughout their house, questions often arise about reverse osmosis under the kitchen sink or filters under all the sinks in the home. (This is called “Point of Use Treatment” or POU in our industry.) The POU system comparison to whole house filtration shows how much more effective the whole house filtration is. Whole house filtration is definitely favorable because you get exceptional water quality without the ongoing maintenance and hassles of having separate water filters under each fixture. Plus you aren’t required to incur any of the additional construction costs such as drilling granite and all those different things that POU water systems often require. Whole house water filters treat the water at the point where it enters the home and because of this we can address drinking water, ice making, bathing and showering issues all at once. Point of use system can not easily do this. A separate unit needs to be under every sink and added to every shower. The maintenance effort every 6 to 12 months to replace all the filters plus the replacement filter cost and initial construction install costs of those POU water systems make them very expensive and undesirable. And these filters must be replaced or the filters don’t work and you might as well have no filters if …
